Ovation Pro 2.77 20th January 2007

20/1/2007

DP 414

The feature which changes the scope of a user defined style when a paragraph
attribute is changed has been removed by popular demand.

DP 413

Text menu now has an entry "Remove". This leads to a sub menu that allows
any local effects at the caret or in the current selection to be removed.

This new feature is an attempt to sort out a common confusion. Typically a
user selects some text and then clicks on the bold button. The text changes
to bold. They then change their mind and click on bold again, the text
changes to normal. However what has happened is that a not-bold effect has
been applied.

If a style which turns on bold is now applied the user will find that the
text stays normal. In Ovation Pro effects always take precedence over
styles. In this example, the not-bold effect is over riding the bold style.

The new feature allows the not-bold effect to be removed.
